A guest decides how they feel about your rental in the first minute — and what they're reacting to is whether it's clean. A hair in the shower or crumbs on the counter can undo a beautiful listing. The turnover between guests is where a rental's reviews are made.
A turnover is not the same as cleaning your own home. Everything a guest touches has to be reset, not just tidied. That means fresh linens on every bed and fresh towels in every bathroom, every time, even if a bed looks unused.
The bathroom gets the closest inspection. Clean the shower, tub, sink and toilet completely, check the drain for hair, wipe the mirror, and restock toilet paper and soap.
In the kitchen, guests open everything. Empty and wipe the refrigerator, check the oven and microwave, run and empty the dishwasher, and make sure dishes and glasses go back clean. Wipe counters, the sink and the table, and take out all trash and recycling.
Then reset the space to match the listing photos: pillows and throws in place, furniture where it belongs, remotes together, floors vacuumed and mopped. Guests chose your rental based on those photos — the room should look like them.
The last step is a quick check for what's wrong or missing: a burned-out bulb, a stain, something broken, something a guest left behind. It's much better to hear it from your cleaner than from your next guest.
