One of the first questions we ask a new client is whether they want a regular cleaning or a deep cleaning. A lot of people aren't sure there's a difference. There is — and choosing the right one is what makes you happy with the result.
A regular cleaning is maintenance. It covers the things that get dirty every week: kitchen counters, the sink and stovetop, bathrooms, dusting, making beds, vacuuming and mopping. It keeps a home that's already in good shape feeling clean.
A deep cleaning goes after buildup — the things that don't get dirty in a week, but do over months. Grease on the backsplash and range hood. Soap scum and grout in the shower. Dust on baseboards, door frames, vents and ceiling fans. Window sills and tracks. The floor behind the sofa and under the bed. It takes noticeably longer, because it's detailed work.
So which do you need? If your home hasn't been professionally cleaned in the last few months, start with a deep cleaning. The same goes if you've just moved in, you're getting ready for guests or a holiday, or you've noticed the bathroom and kitchen never look quite clean no matter how often you wipe them.
If your home is cleaned regularly and you just want to stay on top of it, a regular cleaning is the right fit.
The two work best together. Most of our recurring clients start with one deep cleaning to reset the home, then switch to weekly, biweekly or monthly regular cleanings to keep it that way — with another deep cleaning once or twice a year.
